andalusia-coverWanderland Writers has published another travel anthology, and this one, IMHO, is the best yet. It’s Wandering in Andalusia: The Soul of Southern Spain.

The sixteen authors share stories and poems about a country ripe with contradiction: an arid landscape filled with lush gardens; the practice of elaborate Christian rituals in churches echoing a rich Islamic past; a land of bullfighters, gypsies, poets, philosophers and scholars; a place where duende and alegría coexist. We encountered—and wrote about—Columbus and the Christian Monarchs; tapas and toreadors; sherry and sangria; caliphs and communists; flamenco and, yes, flamingos.

We’re celebrating with two launch parties and several other events; I hope you can join us at one:

  • Saturday, November 19, 2016 — Corte Madera, CA. Celebrate Small Business Saturday all day at Book Passage in Corte Madera. It’s a good place to pick up holiday gifts while supporting an independent bookstore that does lots to help authors. I’ll be at the Left Coast Writers table and/or reading in the Event Room from 2:00 to 4:00; stop by and say hello!
  • Saturday, December 10 — Corte Madera, CA. Wandering In Andalusia North Bay launch party begins at 7 p.m. at Book Passage.
  • Monday, December 12 — San Francisco, CA. Wandering In Andalusia San Francisco launch party begins at 6 p.m. at Book Passage in the Ferry Building.
  • Sunday, December 18. Wanderland Writers talking about the Andalusian journey on the Lilycat show. Live from 12 – 2 pm on FCCFREE RADIO interview in San Francisco; call-ins welcome. (Google calls FFR an “Iconic Staple of San Francisco” and a “Frontrunner in Internet Broadcasting.”)
