Luwak coffee is the most expensive brew in the world. It’s also the strangest, being produced from beans that have been eaten, partially digested, and excreted by a small Southeast Asian mammal called the luwak. I dared to taste-test luwak coffee on a recent trip to Bali; come and hear about the adventure!

Also reading will be Nancy Alpert, Ethel Mussen, Anne Sigmon, Diane LeBow, and MJ Pramik. The book’s grand launch event, which includes traditional Indonesian music and other exotic treats, begins at 7 p.m.

The Wanderland Writers anthology we’re reading from has garnered praise:

“Like renting a frangipani-scented hut, kicking back and sharing the sensory wonderland that is Bali with a bunch of your fast friends—if your friends knew how to tell really good stories.”
Spud Hilton, Travel Editor
San Francisco Chronicle

“For centuries Bali has drawn souls from east and west to its natural beauty, mystical spirituality, and captivating arts. This collection of stories, poems, and photographs offers multiple windows from which to view this engaging place, all presented with rhythms and moods as melodic as the sound of the gamelan.”
