Travel Writing
- Earned a Lowell Thomas Gold Award for excellence in travel writing from the Society of American Travel Writers. This is the premier competition in North America in the field of travel journalism.
- Wrote and edited marketing materials (brochures, catalogs, web content) for High Country Passage, a luxury educational travel operator/wholesaler with clients such as National Geographic Expeditions, Smithsonian Journeys, and alumni travel programs for Harvard, Princeton, MIT, and Stanford.
- Wrote many award-winning travel articles and essays; published in literary anthologies, magazines, newspapers, and online — Lonely Planet, Travelers Tales, Best Women’s Travel Writing, the San Francisco Chronicle, Smithsonian magazine, and others.
- Co-wrote and published a mobile app about the San Francisco waterfront that earned a 5-star rating on iTunes.
- Wrote Lost, Kidnapped, Eaten Alive! True stories from a Curious Traveler, which Kirkus Reviews called “an engaging, meticulously observed journey that brings other cultures alive.”
